“I knew I was marrying an exceptional woman so wanted an exceptional wedding ring to match.”

Armed with a handful of ideas, Riley found that something exceptional with Rebus. Seeking a design that would marry together his and his wife’s shared heritage, he worked with our team to bring his vision to life.

“The wickedly talent folks at Rebus converted my mad blatherings into beautiful artistry beyond anyone’s belief.”

Bringing together his own “patchwork ancestry” as well as his wife’s incredible storied heritage, Riley wanted to go beyond the standard family crest, and so hit the history books to find a lesser-known example of her coat of arms from the 1300s.

Using that as the centrepiece, the design would incorporate a supporter on either side to represent husband and wife: the Draconic Eagle to showcase his mixed Romanian-American upbringing, and the Flying Salmon as a tribute to his wife’s home - “where the river meets the sea”. Above sit three stars: a reference to the three cosmic events that brought the couple together.

”I was almost as excited to start wearing it as I was to marry my wife. Almost!”
