Rebus is excited to announce that we will be crossing the pond this coming September, to host our very first pop-up in the USA, where we will be joining creative forces with J. Mueser, one of the most reputable bespoke men’s tailoring shops in New York.

The decision to partner with J. Mueser came about naturally, as founder, Jake Mueser is himself, an owner of a bespoke Rebus signet ring bearing a custom designed crest.

Up until now, Rebus’ customers in the US have been able to order online and consult with our consultants digitally. For the first time ever, New York customers will get the chance to meet with the founder and master engraver, Emmet Smith, for a one-of-a-kind, personal experience in their hometown.

“Over recent years, we’ve experienced more and more requests from clients in the US. Coming to New York has been a long time coming. I especially enjoy meeting with clients personally to get a sense of their story and personal style, and it’s wonderful to be able to do that for those in the New York area. Moreover, being able to partner with such a like-minded individual as Jake Mueser has been particularly providential” - Emmet Smith, Rebus founder

Both Rebus and J. Mueser are aligned not only in their mutual love of anthropomorphic taxidermy, but in their mastery of merging time-honored craftsmanship with the modern-day desire for inimitable customization. The bespoke tailoring service Jake founded is a name recognized among savvy circles of New York’s well-dressed gentlemen for its contemporary interpretation of traditional menswear and has become the destination to sit back, glass of scotch in hand, and be guided through the ever-evolving art of suit-making.

The space is full of light from the huge floor to ceiling windows that offer a view of Christopher Street, one of the most charming areas in West Village. The place is elegantly appointed, yet comfortable enough to feel at ease as if in a friend's stylish home.

The private consultations with clients will be by appointment only and a collection of Rebus’ signet rings, cufflinks, pendants and more will be on display in the J. Mueser showroom. During the consultation, clients will be able to try on and choose from a variety of pieces available in precious metals and Emmet will be on hand on offer advice and demonstrate some of Rebus’ design and engraving skills. If pieces are commissioned, the final design will then be produced by the team of hand-engravers, who are based in Rebus' flagship workshop in London’s famed jewellery quarter, Hatton Garden. Once completed, these special jewellery pieces will be flown across the water to their new owners.

The Pop Up will take place September 20 through 22 at J. Mueser’s private showroom located on 19 Christopher Street. Rebus founder Emmet Smith will be taking one-to-one appointments from 10:00am to 6:00pm each day.
