Twins may share the same beginnings, but their stories are never identical.

One brother had already created a traditional seal-engraved signet ring with Rebus. His twin, inspired by it, decided to create one of his own.

The starting point was the same, but the intention was different. Where one ring honoured tradition in its purest form, the other would become something more layered. A piece that carried not only heritage, but the places, people, and moments that have shaped a life lived between worlds.

“This piece is deeply personal to me. Having lived abroad for almost half of my life, and moved quite a bit, I felt a strong need to create something that anchors me to my roots and reflects the different chapters of my identity, especially after losing my father early last year.”

Now based in the Bay Area, far from his Bavarian hometown, the ring became a canvas for both past and present.

His initial is engraved at the centre in the exact font of the Oakland Athletics logo, a joyful reference to the years he spent in California and the life he built there.

Surrounding the letter is a delicate scrolling pattern, drawn directly from the traditional embroidery on his own Bavarian lederhosen. Look closely and the design reveals another detail: the branches subtly form the letter H, a quiet reference to his surname, woven into the engraving itself.

The shoulders of the ring carry two further symbols of belonging. On one side, the coat of arms of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the mountain village where he was born and raised. On the other, the vintage crest of FC Bayern Munich, the club he has followed for more than twenty years, and for which he still holds a season ticket to this day.

Inside the band, the story becomes even more personal. Engraved discreetly are the initials of his father, mother, brother, and himself; a private tribute to family, and a reminder that home is never far from hand.

A signet that holds Bavaria and California, past and present, loss and belonging, all within a single piece.
